It’s not surprising to see a woman own more than 3 pairs of high heels. The thing about high heels is that they break easily. Even with normal use, high heeled shoes can sustain enough damage that will make it last for less than 6 months without repair. Now, that excludes any accidents. Sometimes when wearing high heels, accidents can happen that can chip away small fragments of the heel tips or the sole. Although it is rather easy for the cobbler to have them repaired, it can be costly and unpractical on your part if you're running a hectic schedule. However, you can always do the repairs at home. It’s easy and it will only take at least 10-15 minutes depending on how fast you work things out. Here are 5 steps to do heel tip replacement for your heels:

Step1: Get the measurement of the heel tip’s size and diameter. You need to be accurate to get the best replacement parts. Step2: Buy the replacement tips at your nearest shoe store. They can come in different colors but I suggest you pick a color that’s similar to the original one.

Step3: With a pair of pliers, firmly hold onto the heel tip and pull hard. You can also wiggle the pliers a bit to make it easier for the pins loosen up. Step4: Sand off any glue or reside from the heel to ensure a nice fit for the new heel tip. Put sufficient amounts of superglue onto the area where the tips are to be placed. Step5: With a hammer, drive the heel tip all the way through. Some super glue may ooze out, be sure to wipe it off before it hardens.
